Hair in Recovery is a service for those suffering the effects of Hair Loss. If you are post Chemotherapy or Alopecia – you may be able to consider this restorative service.
This unique Hair Extensions programme, which has been developed in consultation with a top Trichologist – is specifically designed for people suffering from Medical Hair Loss (caused by Chemotherapy) or those with Androgenic Hair Loss – Alopecia or Telegenic Effluvium and can also give amazing results for those with Fine or Thinning Hair.
The sensitive application means you can be given an excellent style to help regain confidence and boost self-esteem while you may be waiting on the natural hair to grow unaffected and remain in great condition throughout ‘the process’.

Extension/Hair in Recovery FAQ’s
Hair in Recovery is a Trichology certified extension system. This means that they are scientifically proven to cause no damage and allow the hair to grow in normal condition underneath. This is of the utmost importance if your hair is compromised and also if not so it does not become compromised due to the tension of wearing extensions for a prolonged period.
Similar to visiting a Dermatologist for skin, a Clinical Trichologist deals with the science of hair and scalp & is the ideal person to visit if you are suffering from hair loss/ thinning etc.
- All of the extension systems that I use have been tested and approved by a Trichologist.
Absolutely. The majority of my clients are post chemotherapy. You must be 6 months finished chemotherapy and pass the necessary tests during consultation.
Not at all, you can contact me whenever you like. I am more than happy to answer any questions you may have and this allows you to plan for your Hair in Recovery journey post treatment.
Many clients contact me early, I keep your details for the month you are suitable for consultation and service. This is to ensure that you don’t have to wait any longer for an appointment as only a number of Hair in Recovery slots are available at any given time. This is to allow each person to receive the care and time that you deserve.
Absolutely. If you are looking for extensions for thinning hair using any systems that are not Trichology certified will only affect the hair further.
Yes! Lots of options. Bonds, Links, Tape & Weave. All of which are also Trichology certified.

I first began my hair journey with Mel back in 2019 and can honestly say I haven't looked back since. When I first came to Mel my hair was an absolute disaster. It was over bleached and very broken and I even had bald patches in places.
I had been getting extensions for a number of years prior to this which in turn had left my hair extremely damaged, dry and broken. Since going to Mel for the last number of years the improvement in the condition of my hair has been incredible.
Mel recommended I start getting highlights rather than an over all bleach which would help the condition of my hair. I was also very conscious of how thin and sparse my hair was so Mel recommend Luxe hair extensions which are extremely light weight and do not damage your own hair. Over the last few years of working with Mel the improvement in my hair has been fantastic and the results really do speak for themselves.
